This is the whole idea. We set one very long table, you bring yourself, and Lakeland does what Lakeland does best. Somebody saves you a seat, somebody passes you a plate, and a stranger becomes a neighbor before dessert.
Set in the heart of Downtown Lakeland, this unique event brings together neighbors, families, local businesses, nonprofits, and community leaders around one incredibly long table to share a meal and celebrate what unites us. Inspired by the simple idea that meaningful conversations can strengthen communities, The Longest Table creates a welcoming space where everyone belongs and every story matters.

VISTE delivers 800 Personal Care Boxes a year to homebound seniors across Lakeland. Drop one item at their tent when you arrive and you've helped fill a box.
The Longest Table lands on the final day of Arts & Health Week, a county-wide celebration of how creativity supports physical, emotional, and social health, centered right here in Lakeland. The Watson Clinic Foundation's Arts in Medicine Program and the Polk Arts and Health Collaborative highlight free and low-cost events all week long. Arts & Health Week is made possible by presenting sponsor Orlando Health Watson Clinic Lakeland Highlands Hospital.
On event day, our scavenger hunt takes you past downtown Lakeland's murals, so bring your curiosity along with your appetite.
It takes a small army to set 81 tables and welcome a whole city. Check-in, setup, greeters, table decorating, event support, breakdown: pick a shift that fits you, and Ashley Ray's volunteer team will take it from there.
